Post-Op Patient After-Care

Every patient leaves your chair with a calm, professional follow-up plan.

PostCare handles the day-after calls and digital healing handouts so your surgical team can stay focused on the next case — not the previous one's voicemails.

The daily reality

Sound familiar?

Every oral surgery practice runs into the same pattern: the procedures go smoothly, then the recovery calls start piling up at the front desk.

No time to call every patient after surgery

Surgical teams are scheduled back-to-back. The day-after follow-up call is the first thing that slips when the schedule runs long — and the patient notices immediately.

Anxious patients flooding your front desk

"Is this much swelling normal?" "When can I eat solid food?" Front-desk staff end up handling clinical recovery questions between scheduling the next patient and checking insurance.

Printed handouts get lost or ignored

Paper aftercare sheets disappear in waiting rooms, get folded into a wallet, or go straight into a bag unread — exactly when the patient needs them most.

What we do

What PostCare handles

PostCare is a focused after-care service. We work alongside your practice, never inside it — taking over the predictable, time-consuming post-op workflow so your team only hears from patients who genuinely need you.

Post-Op Check-In Calls

A trained assistant calls each patient on a defined cadence after their procedure — confirming bleeding, swelling, pain control, and medication compliance, and escalating red flags to your office by email the same day.

Procedure-Specific Healing Handouts

A digital PDF is emailed to every patient within thirty minutes of leaving your chair — written for extractions, implants, wisdom teeth, bone grafts, and biopsies, in plain language a non-clinical reader can actually follow.

Your Team, Fully Unburdened

Your front desk stops absorbing "is this normal?" calls. Your surgeons stop getting tapped on the shoulder about yesterday's patient. Your team gets to focus on the case in front of them.

The workflow

How a post-op engagement works

Every engagement follows the same predictable rhythm, keyed off the procedure date. Your team hands off once; PostCare carries the patient through the rest of the recovery window.

01

Day 0 — Procedure Day

Patient packet handoff

Your surgical team finishes the case and hands the patient packet to PostCare. We confirm procedure type, sedation, and any surgeon-specific instructions before the patient leaves the chair.

02

Day 1 — 24-Hour Check-In

First post-op call

A trained assistant calls the patient, reviews bleeding, swelling, pain control, and medication compliance, and escalates any red flags directly to your office by email before the day is over.

03

Days 3 & 7 — Recovery Touchpoints

Soft diet, sutures, return-to-activity

Second and third calls cover soft-diet progression, suture-site care, and questions about returning to work or activity — timed to the complications most common for that procedure.

04

End of Week — Written Recap

One-page summary per patient

You receive a concise written summary per patient so your chart notes are complete and any follow-up appointments are already flagged before the file closes out.

The boundary

What your practice keeps vs. what PostCare handles

The split is intentional. Clinical judgment stays where it belongs; the predictable, time-consuming follow-up workflow moves off your team's plate.

Stays with your practice

Clinical judgment and patient treatment decisions
Post-op prescriptions, dosing, and medication changes
In-office follow-up appointment scheduling
On-call emergency line and after-hours triage

The patient experience

What your patients receive

Three concrete things, every patient, every time — so the recovery window is structured for them rather than improvised.

A calm, knowledgeable call

A live assistant reaches them the day after surgery with a structured set of questions — what to expect, what's normal, when to call you back. Most patients tell us it's the most reassuring part of recovery.

Procedure-specific PDF handout

Emailed within 30 minutes of leaving your office. Cover extraction, implant, wisdom teeth, bone graft, and biopsy recovery — written plainly, with a troubleshooting section for the symptoms that scare patients most.

Scheduled check-ins at 3 and 7 days

The patient doesn't need to call you to ask whether what they're experiencing is normal. We already scheduled the call, we already know what the recovery window looks like for that procedure, and we tell them exactly when to escalate.

Who runs it

About the operator

Founded by a certified oral surgery assistant

Greg spent years chairside in oral surgery — chairing IV sedation setups, prepping surgical trays, walking post-op patients through the first 24 hours, and fielding the "is this normal?" calls the night of every procedure.

PostCare exists because Greg watched front-desk staff absorb every after-hours patient call while surgeons tried to focus on the next case. The work that didn't require a license was falling on the people who had the least time for it. PostCare moves that work into a predictable, trained workflow.

You always stay in clinical control. PostCare never gives medical advice that contradicts your surgeon's treatment plan, never adjusts a prescription, and never triages an emergency. Anything outside the routine recovery window is escalated to your office the same day, by email.

Objection handling

Common questions

Are you a dental office?
No. PostCare is an independent post-op service that works with oral surgery and dental surgery practices. We don't see patients in person, we don't bill insurance, and we don't replace any part of your clinical team.
Do you replace our post-op nurse?
No. Clinical decisions, prescriptions, and on-call triage stay with your practice. PostCare handles the predictable, structured follow-up calls your team is already trying to fit in — not the work that requires a license.
What does the engagement cost?
Pricing depends on your case volume and the cadence of follow-up you want. We walk through it on the discovery call — Greg will send a written proposal after you've described your workflow.
How do we send you the patient packet?
Secure email or a direct export from your practice management software, whichever your office prefers. We set up the handoff together during onboarding so it fits the rhythm of how your team already finishes a case.
